Carl Sagan pleasantly surprised me. His The Cosmic Connection was certainly part science, but there was a metaphysical, contemplative quality that will keep me seeking more of his work. Void of jargon, Carl Sagan reveals his impressions of the universe, and the universe appears beautiful and vast.
